The scientist who won the Nobel price for discovering the HIV virus, Luc Montagnier, says that we're looking at about 4~5 years until a vaccine for HIV is made.

Note: it's not a cure, it's a vaccine used to stop the spread of AIDS. Fantastic.

Some people on the news article left comments like "stop having sex: that's the cure". I thought it was a good idea until I remembered "oh, wait: I like sex."

Kidding, but if we do that, in 80 years human race will be extinct... What an outrageous thought? Sex is a survival instinct, so might as well tell us to stop eating.

And the religious zealots disagree with it as well because it's interfering with God's system of killing people... or something like that. I don't really understand Christian/Catholic beliefs completely but I'm pretty sure that those people wouldn't be saying such things if they had the disease for themselves.

I just don't get people sometimes... This was supposed to be a good news until people with extreme beliefs/ideas came in to the picture.

Less money means more health problems

iPod is trouble

iPod-- I personally owned one myself for a year or two. It was the very first iPod Nano. And although I admit they have a nice design, I personally never wanted to pay a lot of money for them.

Few reasons that I don't like about iPods

1.) I'm a semi-audiophile. Meaning I take music quality very seriously. The thing is, iPods have a very mediocre sound quality. iPod Classics can take some high end encoding but I don't want a PORTABLE music player that is that big, and I don't have 30gb+ worth of music. And the headphones that come with iPods are shit.

2.) iTunes: I hate this software. For many it's love it or hate it; for me it's hate. It just takes up too much resources so I stick to the "Drag and Drop" based MP3 players.

And here's just a new reason to add on to all that.

3.) You have a high chance of getting mugged with those white ear headphones in your ear in public. Let's face it: there are lot of people out there who WANT an iPod and don't HAVE one. Because they are on the expensive side compared to other MP3 players. And because those white earbuds became such a blatant message of "I HAZ AN IPOD", you become an easy target of mugging. What's unfortunate is, as much as thieves want to steal these things, youths don't want to give them up.

Result? You get injured over a piece of property worth $150 to $350. If someone has a knife to your back, use your common sense and just give it to them. Get details and call the police and let them deal with it. But don't be a dumbass and confront them.

118th Pyramid found

You know, I've always just assumed that they already found all the pyramids that exist.

I mean, look at the famous Great Pyramid of Giza: it's massive. So how's it possible not to find them all when they can be seen from satellites from space (I think. Google Earth could anyways).

Turns out not all pyramids are that large. The one they recently discovered near Cairo was 5 meters high, but estimated to be 14 meters high before.

Bell doesn't make sense

Here's news that doesn't make any sense: Bell is offering an option for parents, charging $5/month, to block porn from cellphones.

So basically, someone had this idea that people would go on to google to type in "B00000bl35" on their cellphones and masturbate to it. There's a few things wrong with this.

1.) Nobody told me that it was possible to watch porn on your cellphone. Screw you guys.
2.) Even if it's possible, I wouldn't do it! And who would? It's like watching 2 turtles try to have sex with the slow streaming.
3.) Even if it's fast because you have a 3G networking, where would you wank off? Last time I checked, bathrooms have terrible reception, and it's not like you're gonna blatantly watch porn in public.

And the final thing: I don't get why people would pay to NOT watch porn. That's just unheard of. I thought most people are unhappy enough as it is that you have to pay to watch them.

So it's a complete rip off. But then again, Bell (and Telus, and Rogers) were all douchebags who rip you off to begin with. So we're used to it by now.

Because this Montreal comedian decided to prank call Sarah Palin, pretending to be the president of France.

And they realized: Palin knows nothing about Canada. The comedian constantly hinted to her that he's actually not the president of France by mentioning his relationships with Canadian politicians, but she didn't catch on. Of course, Montreal is in Quebec, which is a francophone (french-speaking) province but...

Oh, and for the people who really think Sarah Palin is that hot (I don't think so. Meh.), there's gonna be a pornographic spoof on Palin, named Nailin' Palin.

Assasinating Obama

At first, I read this news, and I laughed.

Not out of ignorance, but because it sounded so bizarre. I mean, there's two white-supremacist, neo-nazis planning to kill 88 people and 14 of them by beheading. Barack Obama, being one of them, because, these two guys don't want a black president. With the secret service, FBI, blah blah blah, I wondered, how can just two men kill a (hopefully) president?

Then I remembered JFK. Then I was like "Oh shit, these guys are serious." So we should take them seriously. Good news is, they were arrested. Bad news is, this doesn't mean Obama is safe in any way---because there's probably crazy guys like them every where.

It just goes to show how ignorance is still flooding, not just America (although, yes, especially America), but really all parts of the world.

Weirdest way to die

Avoid the chocolate coin stuff. I thought Canada would be safe from the tainted milk, but not the case, apparently, for Sherwood brand of Pirate's Gold Milk Chocolate Coins.

But then again, people with common sense must have pretty much realized by now: avoid all dairy unless you know it's from Canada for a while. And I'm sorry to say this to fellow Asians: that includes bubble tea.

And since the victims of the outbreak amounts to maybe even 90, 000... we should know by now the seriousness of the situation.

Megaman and Dragonball Z live action movie

2.) Make a live action movie of Pokemon.

Some professor named Anderson and Boston University of Medicine did a research, pretty much because he was bored. Turns out Coke is a spermicide. In fact, turns out that Diet Coke is even better.

Now this doesn't mean drinking 3 cans of Diet-Coke will let you avoid condoms, use your common sense. And I'm not even sure if this is a good thing or not. I mean, the Coca-Cola spokeswoman is avoiding to comment because a soft drink that you drink for losing weight (irony of that) isn't supposed to kill your sperms. But then again, what's so bad about having a multi purpose tool?

For example, Viagra is meant to treat erectile dysfunction but it is a practical temporary treatment for clogged artery. They discovered this medicine when they were looking for ways to treat heart attacks.

The professor by the way, is gonna get the Ig Nobel prize. It's for people who made weird scientific discoveries that are actually useful. Past winners found out strippers make more money when they can have babies, food that sounds better also taste better and armadillos have the potential to change the world.

China loses face

I've talked about the Tainted Milk situation in China. But did I also mention Chinese products are leaking in to South Korea?

The Chinese government announced "you'd have to drink 4000 cups of coffees a day for such small amount to kill you" which is more-or-less probably true. I wouldn't know since I'm not a researcher. However, when they say that, they are undeniably admitting that it is, nonetheless, harmful and inappropriate for human consumption. Which is exactly what's happening. It is not a simple matter of "life and death". Kinda like smoking.

Furthermore, it is occurring in world wide companies such as Lotte, Mars and Nestle. So basing the above statement by Chinese and the size of these companies, we are talking about millions of Kit-Kats, M&M's and Snickers and Mars bars. (1.5~3.5 million for each in fact.) Seems like if we simply let this pass, there will be some serious health consequences. It doesn't even take a university degree to figure this one out, but once again, common sense makes... sense.

China needs to get its act straight. Meanwhile, just avoid Chinese products at all costs.

Worst way to die...

Sure there's countless options to choose from when it comes to "death" but this one just sucks.

Man in Delta got hit by a bus, then dragged for 5 kilometers. But I sense a "common sense fail" here. Delta: suburban region, the highways there are very dark in some locations. And this man also happened to wear dark clothes. Now, we really have nothing to blame on the bus driver. People make mistakes, but even more so, there's a limit to what the bus driver could have done.

The dead guy on the other hand, could have maybe thought something like "Hmm, it's a dark night and I need to walk across a highway to get to where I am going. Maybe I should wear something that is not the color of the road." I mean black-and-grey checkered jacket tends to look like the pavement doesn't it? Oh, and his complexion was brown as well. I'm not saying he deserved to die but really... poor guy. That just sucks.

Steve Jobs dead?

There was recently a report by CNN saying that Steve Jobs suffered a heart attack, and not surprisingly, the stock market plummeted after the news. Later it was confirmed with Apple that it wasn't true, but it remains that Steve Jobs is in bad health these days.

There was an analyst who described Steve Jobs as the "Apple" and vice versa. He is the key to Apple's success. I am not an apple fan boy, but that RDF (reality distortion field or something) really exists. When Steve Jobs talk on a keynote, people listen, and what I would have probably dismissed as "another iPod" seems to become a lot more appealing.

I'm just thinking, if Steve Jobs really died... what would happen with Apple?

Really, it sometimes may seem like I hate Chinese people personally. I know Koreans and Chinese had their disputes in the past, but I have plenty of Chinese friends. But oh-my-sweet-baby-Jesus you can't trust anything made in China.

First you had the tainted milk. Some companies decided to make their milk look like it has lot more protein than it actually does by adding stuff that goes in plastics. Then turns out it killed 4 babies, possibly more with in the next few weeks. It's disgusting they take away something so beautiful from families just for money. That is absolutely inexcusable.

And now, you have bunch of Chinese dessert mix being recalled because of melamine. Again, the same stuff that killed babies in China.

Just really, avoid Chinese stuff. Wasn't there several deaths involving listeria before too?

Quick Update on Our politics

As I've mentioned before, the government was surveying every Canadians to find out who they're gonna vote for, which I still feel like is unfair if they haven't made the election official... Depending on survey results they can call it off... Regardless, here are the results.

But this is not the only problem with the results of the survey. We're gonna end up with a minority government again. Sure that's a good thing if Tories are the ones with the most votes, but the whole reason we are prematurely dissolving the parliament is because the minority government is so unproductive. Kinda beats the point of the whole thing.

Canadians are all going to die! meebee

New report showed that if there was supposed to be a major disaster right now, a lot of Canadians are at risk.

Now it's not easy of course, because a major disaster can be anything: it could be an epidemic, it could be a huge earthquake or Godzilla, or if you wanted to really recreate a major disaster, God forbid-10 Godzillas...

Look the point is, cbc.ca is more-or-less part of the government. It undeniably has lots of biased stories, and this seems like it's another one of those stories that does the whole "BE SCARED!! AHHH" kind of act.

Given, I don't disagree at all with the fact that if there was a major disaster in Canada right now-we'd be screwed. But, there's just somethings they aren't mentioning. For example, the diefenbunker, an underground facility meant to protect government officials in Penhold, Alberta in case of an emergency during the 1970's. Just the government officials. This was actually a comment I've seen under the article but I know it to be true because I was there during an Air Cadet Summer Camp. It seemed like a giant network of underground tunnels that stretched from a currently deactivated military facility to elementary schools.

Another comment I saw went something like this:

"This article is complete bullocks. Canadians are surviving a major disaster right now. Why wouldn't we be able to survive a major disaster?"

The person and really, hundreds or even thousands of others have the similar argument. The major disaster at the moment in Canada is politics. Simply. Chaos.

Stephen Harper is a major source of the problem. The fact that we have well over 300 parliamentary members, several parties, and a minority governmnet is also source of the chaos.

Conservatives seem to be pulling a dirty move on this one. They seem to be surveying Canadians to estimate if they have a good shot at taking majority government if they dissolved the parliament for a new election. My base on that claim is, I got a phone call from the Tories asking if I'll vote for them. They probably are doing this to every household in Canada. But they're probably scared shitless Liberal's are going to take over, so rather than prematurely ending their reign of patheticness, they'd rather make sure they can take the gold medal home before calling an election.

Tell you what: for all those who read this blog, help me out. Help Canadians out. Vote Liberal, or even NDP, just not Conservatories this coming election. Spread the word. Just think about what happened while those guys were in power, Bill C-61 (I'll be making a rant about that soon), Canadian George Bush Jr... I could go on, but I've listed all these in a blog post from before.

Here's an update for the minimum hourly wage across Canada. Nunavut has the highest of 10 dollars. Now, I'm not an economic analyst but it doesn't take a genius to realize, this is going to literally rape the small business owners. 8 dollars was pretty high as it is and pretty reasonable in my opinion. But Yukon--really? 8.58? Aren't there simpler ways to do things? People are just gonna end up with useless pennies... which brings me to my next point.

Some java shop in Halifax has stepped up to the arena to do the right thing, and I hope this sets an example for rest of Canada. Maybe USA can learn from this too. What they're doing is simple: pennies won't be part of the business. They won't be part of the change, they will not be accepted as payment. Everything will be rounded up or down to the nearest 5.

People may criticize that saying it's just a scheme to steal a few cents but let's get real. They have not that much to gain from doing this, and even if they did, you have not that much to lose from losing 2~3 cents per purchase. You can pick that up on your way home if you wanted to.

Tell ya what: this is what we could do with pennies... Just collect them all, every single one of them all over the country, melt them, then make a giant bronze statue of me. Or whatever that thing's made out of.

Am I such a great figure that we need to make a giant statue to worship? Absolutely not. But that's still better than having them thrown out on to the streets of Toronto.

Indian Harry Potter

News doesn't have to be always tragic or even optimistic. That's the 2nd epiphany I had today.

Sometimes they can be just downright stupid and thus, hilarious. To prove my point, let's talk about "Hari Puttar". Warner Brothers, the guys who produced Harry Potter in to a film (J.K. Rowling had nothing to do with it I'm assuming) are going to sue Indian movie producers of the movie "Hari Puttar".

I'll give a break for laughing.

It's hilarious because this Indian movie doesn't have any resemblance to the movie that they're "copying" at all. It's either a horrible comprehension of the term "parody" or "Warner Bros. are just sore because their movie got delayed and looking for an excuse". Why? Because the plot and characters have no resemblance at all to any of the Harry Potter movies.

Hari is a very common Indian name by the way. It's like the last name "Smith" in Canada. I just dont see how Warner Bros. made the connection.

Election!

I had a semi-epiphany today. I realized news don't always have to like "Oh, this person tragically died" or "there's a war in Georgia and world's coming to an end".

Like for example "there's an election coming up"--maybe. You know the Canadian government's been really unproductive because the parties cannot agree on an issue-generally between conservatives against liberals and NDP's. Harper's frustrated, and so he wants to dissolve the parliament to try to gain a majority government, so they can create laws as they wish.

Call it a hunch, but I don't know if this will go as planned for Harper. From what I've seen, people are crying out for Stephen Harper to step out. They were able to screw us over many times with a minority government. Bill C-61, Stephen Harper being Bush Jr. , Failure to act on the taser death issues, Funding cunts for Women's Rights...

And really, I've been studying politics since early 2008. If a novice like me can list that many, and they were in power since February 2006... We have a problem. If these guys gain a majority government in Canada, we're screwed.

Which is why, like I said, in a positive turn: let's celebrate that there might be an election coming up, because I trust in the people of Canada to make the right choice this time: Avoid Conservatories at all cost. NDP or Liberal is the way to go.

Sichuan Province Earthquake again...

Is this even news at this point? The connection seems to be quite obvious when you consider them to be aftershocks of the gigantic earthquake of 7.9 magnitude on May 12th.

At least 27 have been estimated to be lost, 180 000 homes destroyed, in the recent earthquake of 6.1 magnitude.

As far as I can remember, there's been around 3~4 earthquakes in Sichuan province over the last 3 months, and that's excluding the aftershocks.

The situation is as sad as it is desperate, and seeing how the earthquakes are in the Sichuan province, the government should think about relocating of the civilians. This isn't the "Annual Californian Wildfire" ceremony.

This needs to stop. The bigfoot story, the chupacabra or whatever it is: this isn't news. This is a fairy tale. Whole story is meant to laugh at people that are amazed, spend their entire lives searching for the god damn thing as a career, or the skeptics who starts serious arguments and debates about it, wasting their time trying to knock sense into the gullible.

How about some common sense? A guy in a Halloween costume. A dog with an injured leg.

Though, if anyone (given, there is anyone that reads this blog) actually disagrees with me, it must be the very first sentence of this entry: "This needs to stop."

New Parliamentary Election?

Despite lots of things going around in Canada these days, including the propane explosion in Toronto (Cloverfield deja vu), or how we STILL have no medals, this is the big news of the week, despite it's only an ambiguous announcement.

Long story short, since the minority government (meaning the party with most votes does not have over 50% of the seats in the House of Commons, meaning they can't make up laws without reliable support from other parties such as Liberals and NDP) has been very unproductive due to the fact that the Liberal party frequently conflicts with the conservatory party's decisions making, Harper's frustrated. He wants to call up another election.

This seems to be highly favored by most of Canadians, just skimming through the comments on the news article. I am one of them. I hate conservatory governments. Ever since they've been in power, they've been quite a pain in the ass, including the introduction of Canadian version of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, failure to apprehend the text charges from Bell and Telus, and rather wasting resources on a completely useless law like "the Anti-Spanking Bill". I'm tired of the government's blatant waste of manpower, and I'm disappointed that I can't vote yet.

And to think: This is the power of conservatories in a minority government. If they achieved majority government in the possible upcoming election... the wishes of consumers are going to be undoubtedly heavily compromised.

Harry Potter 6th Movie Delayed

Unfortunate news for Harry Potter fans, the next Harry Potter movie, 6th installment of the series has been delayed to July 17, 2009. There's been some large hype over the upcoming original release in November but that's really too bad.

You know what I think? This is an "epic phail". Harry Potter is fun. I like it. But the fantasy novel seems to become more childish as you grow. And so you lose interest. Now, because it takes so long for the movie (and the book) to come out, only hardcore fans will get to finish the entire thing. I still haven't read the 7th book.

For every year Harry ages one year in the plot of the movie, we age 2 years. By the time the 7th movie comes out, I'll probably be 21. But anyways, that's just my opinion. I'm sure a lot of people will still watch and enjoy it.

F*ck Telus, Bell, and the Government

Of course, the news has been quite recently because it seemed like it was going somewhere with the NDP speaking out against it, Jim Prentice calling it unfair. And no one really gave a serious crap, other than 2 particular Quebec residents who sued Bell, because August was still far away.

That's all good except: it's August now. And Bell has now initiated its plan: be a bitch.

Or if you really wanted to know what the plan was: charge 15 cents for incoming text messages (that is, given that you don't have a text messaging plan). Oh and, by the way, Telus is doing it too.

Their justification:
1.) Their "filters" are good enough to stop unwanted spam text messages.
2.) Given that you do receive spam, you can contact the telecommunication company for the charges to be removed.
3.) You could just get a text messaging plan. Canadians are generally starting to become very reliant on using text messages as a main source of communication with 10 billion text messages sent in 2007 in Canada, and 4.1 billion in first 3 months of 2008.

In fact, with Jim Prentice talking to the head of the two companies and hearing that, he decided the government will not get involved with the new text messaging plans.

My counter-argument:
1.) Yeah, you see... I still get spams. So it's not working very well, that filter of yours.
2.) Calling my provider every fucking month when I get a spam is a pain in the ass. And unless I just suddenly got at least 10 text messages in a month, it's not even worth the time. It's not worth waiting on the phone talking to a fucking automated machine for 10 minutes and making a simple request to an actual human being for 5 seconds to get 15 cents back. But they know that's why they'll make more money this way.
3.) Getting a text messaging plan costs more money. Hence, they make more money.

Oh, so the simple conclusion is, this move is obviously (if you really haven't noticed yet) geared towards stealing more of our money.

Now, we're left with very few options because this text messaging charges: it's going to happen.

1.) Switch to Rogers. Problem with this is, some people may simply not have the coverage. Or you might be addicted to Korean phones which are generally CDMA. Or you may just be scared of the fact that Roger's service plans are generally more expensive. Thus, you're not really saving any money by switching.

2.) Get a text messaging plan. Works for probably many people, not me. I wouldn't text. In fact, I have no text messaging plan but essentially all the minutes I need, so when I get a text message from a friend asking something like "Dota?" I call them back and say "yes" and hang up. Because I'm Asian like that. I'm cheap. 15 cents is a lot of money. That's not an option for me.

So this whole situation is getting really complicated. You could switch to Rogers but you might end up paying same or higher monthly fees because of their plans. Or you could get a text messaging plan which you basically don't need and still lose money. Or you could just pay 15 cents for incoming text messages, which might be spam, which you may or may not get to a significant portion that you'd be forced to get a text messaging plan to save money.

Confused? I'm not surprised, because most people don't like to think things through carefully, and that's why Telus and Bell wants to make more money off of you.

So what are you going to do? Vote in the polls on the right.

Depending on how a person's brain is wired, the chemical messengers take in nicotine as "repulsive or rewarding". Sounds simple enough, and it surely explains people's varying weakness to nicotine addiction.

The study shows that addiction to nicotine may be soon cured by pharmacological medicines. What they don't know however is that by the time that comes into existence, the world will already have known that there is absolutely no benefit of the "cancer stick" and ban its sales. The only country left still being choked by the toxic tobacco fumes will be Korea.

Now one question to them: Why are all smokers also coincidentally assholes with no respect of other people's desire of not getting exposed to their misguided means of killing themselves. It's their right to smoke, but it's not their right to smoke in public and that's now the standard law in BC. I just don't understand it-why are smokers all dicks?

Update: The research has gone far enough for doctors to be actually able to control whether an exposure to nicotine is "pleasurable" or "repulsive" by modifying the brain receptors.

God is racist. Before anyone has chance to even think about how they're going to call me a douchebag for saying that, let's calm down and think about this: I'm a sarcastic person. So hear me out.

Take the Sichuan earthquake for example. 70, 000 people died. 5 million people lost their homes.

Olympics 2008 is coming up and Chinese are getting flamed for the Tibet-related, well erm, everything.

But about that earthquake: they had another one. Yup, this Tuesday, they got another one of magnitude 6.0. And of course, there were countless aftershocks in between this one and the last one. They are just in the midst of recovering from the 7.9 earthquake, and it just seems like their hope would be destroyed by that point.

I am actually agnostic, but for all I could wonder, maybe Sharon Stone was right about the whole karma thing. I was skeptical but it's either that, or God is racist, or you know, China is simply geographically situated on the worst parcel of land.

Government conspiracies?

The European governments seem to be doing some dark stuff that only recently was unveiled to the public.

First one is a report showing that senior French officials were involved in the Rwandan Genocide. In fact, French troops were responsible for assassinations and rapes of many Hutu's and Tutsi's.

But you know, it's actually not a big deal because the French are Robot Nazis from the Delta Quadrant. They're incapable of moral reasonings. (It's just what I make of it to lighten up the situation.)

Second, is that British military made some secret deals with the Iraqi. The deal was so that the British military does not get involved in the battle that followed the deal, in Basra earlier in 2008. As Lt. Col. Chuck Western puts it: "Cutting a deal with the bad guys is generally not a good idea."

Irony of the situation is that both reports were supposed to be secretive.

One horrible incident I want to talk about: you already know that there was a decapitation incident in a Greyhound bus recently. There have been another one, in Greece this time. He first cut off his girlfriend's dog's head off, then the girl's. When police arrived at the scene, he stabbed the police, threw the f***ing head in to the police car, hijacked one of the patrol car, then ran over a motorcyclist while trying to get away.

Ultimately, the police subdued him the only way that works on a rampaging psychopath: shoot him, albeit, I'm not sure if 5 times was necessary. Either way, it's a horrible event, and it's good that he just died in the scene. It would have been waste of man power to arrest him, try him, since he'd be sentenced to death anyways.

Now, with Olympic games coming up in China, lots of crazy things happening there. The big deal is of course: Tibet. Funny thing, that anybody who wants to protest at the game must make an application, days in advance. The Chinese government also made visa-processes more strict, to keep certain foreign organizations out. Someone said:

An ethnicity that no one seems to care or know about, at least as far as I'm concerned, Muslim Turkish people that's been rebelling against Chinese rule may be causing trouble. There was an incident at the Chinese border recently that ended up killing 16 police officers, and injuring another 16. It's just ironic that after supporting Sudan, Iran, or also stereotypically known as "terrorist countries" in the UN, they are the ones who gets attacked by terrorists. No sympathy here.

Greyhound Dreaded Beheaded

There hasn't been a blog for a few days, not necessarily because there wasn't news, but because there wasn't really one I wanted to talk about or make fun of.

Big news recently, of course, is the Greyhound decapitation incident. If you don't already know about that, a young man was coldly murdered in a very public setting (Greyhound bus), being stabbed in the chest 50~60 times, and then being decapitated. Then the murderer calmly took the head and presented it to the bus passengers who have already evacuated and staring in horror outside.

The significance (not implying that a man's death is insignificant, so if I'm to correct myself, the other significance) of this story is, people are scared now. That's good, I'm scared too. A typical person should be scared, because when it comes down to it, there are apparently 3 types of people in this world: "Psychos (the murderer), Stupid, or pussies (rest of the passengers)."

The point I'm getting at: no one helped the guy at all, not one, when the guy was getting stabbed 60 times. It's sad that this is true human nature: I would have done the same thing.

Earthquake in Southern California

Of course, the big news of the weeks is that there was an earthquake in Southern California this week, that was felt from Los Angeles to San Diego. The magnitude was 5.4, which is pathetic compared to the recent tragic Chinese earthquake (magnitude of 7.9).

And it's quite obvious the infrastructure helped a lot in this situation since no one seemed to have been killed, or even injured. Good education, earthquake drills, makes an earthquake rather fun I guess.

US has fat people; Wants kids to be fat too

Now, we all know America is the fattest country in the world. But what about the kids? Turns out that recent estimates show that Americans spent 1.6 billion dollars advertising their food products-most of them junk food like pop drinks-specifically targeting kids.

"How do you know that? It's presumptuous to say it targets kids!" Someone may ask.

Because teenagers older than 16 won't buy a cookie just because it was advertised by Batman and Superman-alikes.

In fact, almost 500 million dollars of that was used to advertise pops and soft-drinks, using characters from famous movies like Pirates of the Carribbean.

And that made a lot of people freak out going "food companies and entertainment industries are evil!"

No, idiots. Parents are the problem. You can't blame kids for wanting a cookie or coke. You can blame yourself for taking them to McDonald's because you're too lazy to cook up a healthy meal.

And I swear to God, it might be because I hate whiny kids, but don't let your younger brothers/sisters/sons/daughters make you their bitch. If they haven't finished their veggies and they want dessert, say no. If they cry, too bad. They ain't gonna starve, it's human nature to eat something edible if they're hungry.

Quebec Girl Roflrickrolls Police

If you don't read news and read this crappy blog instead, you wouldn't have known that recently a smart/brave Quebec girl escaped from a kidnapper, and called the police from a nearby telephone booth. I thought "Good on you, 12 year old girl!"

But there were a few things wrong with this.

1.) No one is stupid enough to leave a girl alone in a car after kidnapping her.
2.) He didn't sexually molest her, let alone hurt her in anyway.
3.) The girl didn't seem traumatized at all from the experience.

Except, if you add in just one more oddity in the equation, it all makes sense. That being:
The girl wasn't actually kidnapped. Because things weren't adding up; the police investigated and the girl eventually admitted that she lied.

That changes the whole situation. The police have no idea why the girl lied, and they're not even punishing her, even though she'll probably get lectured by her parents for... I dunno, maybe, lying to the police that she was kidnapped?

My opinion: the girl's getting off too easy. 12 years old is old enough to know better. The police have limited resources. Wasting their men on investigating a fairy tale made up by a stupid 12 year old girl isn't justifiable by a lecture by parents. She needs to be punished. Charges must be set forward to her parent. They need to learn that for an action, there is a responsibility and consequences that follow.

If not, the girl might grow up to be an attention whore. Maybe.

Abbotsford couple's 18th baby born

Livia, a Romanian immigrant, broke the record for BC, by giving birth to her 18th baby, the most prolific BC mother in 20 years. Since the oldest is 23 years old, and the mother is 44, she's practically having a baby every 1.2 years, but there's probably some twins or something in there or else it doesn't sound very realistic.

It's great that they're keeping their sex life that active and (probably) enjoyable to that age, but is it really worth all that pain for breaking a stupid record? I thought women dread having a baby after their first one. Not that I'd have a really good idea of it, but apparently it's like taking your upper lip and stretching it to the back of your neck. That doesn't even make sense.

Why is severed foot funny?

As you all know, there's been this recent scare over feet washing up on shores of British Columbia. People thought some psychotic killer murdered them and severed their feet, and thrown them in to the water. Turns out, all the feet found shows no sign of "intentional sever" and seems more likely that they decayed away in the ocean via natural process.

Since then, they've been taking DNA samples from the feet and matching them with missing BC residents. So far they linked it to a missing BC man who suffered from depression. But that's not important. The important thing is the coroner (a person who investigates deaths) recommended RCMP against publicizing this fact (until Thursday) for some reason. But that's not the important thing either. The coroner's name is Randall Gaylord. Yes, his last name is Gaylord. We refer to him as Mr. Gaylord. The newspaper refers to him via his last name too.

"Gaylord said the body did not have a right arm, left hand or any feet. The body was discovered five months before the first of the five feet was discovered on B.C.'s Jedidiah Island.

Gaylord said he advised B.C. investigators about the discovery on Thursday after reading a newspaper article about the case recently." -cbc.ca July 19th, 2008

Kidnapping and sexual assault on a boy... by a man...

The balls on this one... Pierre Defoy (Quebec), 50, first was supposed to be sentenced for kidnapping charges, but lucky for him, it's delayed, because recently, they found out he sexually assaulted the same boy.

He abducted him in broad daylight; just grabbed him, and put him in a truck. So about 30 minutes later, this bystander in a car see the trunk in front of him pop open, sees the boy, and follows the car so he can call the police.

So after that, he gags him and locks him in inside a 3 meter high heating oil tank (pictured on the left).

The boy is traumatized and having a hard time mentally recovering from the experience.

I dont know what more to say about this. Should I talk about the fact that he's gay, pedophile, kidnapper and a sex fiend? But that's too obvious. Should I talk about the fact that our justice system is too... just? The fact that atrocious crimes go unpunished properly?

Jim Prentice Strikes Back

Now truth be told, young people don't like Conservatory government. By the next federal election, assuming that the parliament isn't dissolved any earlier, I'll be able to vote, and I'm voting Liberal for sure. Conservatories, as far as I can tell, have catastrophically been a failure. Anti-Spanking Bill, extended involvement in Afghanistan... Laws that may or may not be good, but are impractical in the sense that it's not enforceable, and if it was enforced, that's a lot of valuable government's time and resources... wasted.

Jim Prentice's Bill C-61 that I talked about before, was simply cruel. It would pretty much tax thousands or even millions of dollars to teenagers all across Canada. But this time, he's on our side: our side meaning the majority wishes of the consumers.

Telus and Bell have recently announced that they will be charging 15 cents per text message received. It didn't seem like a big deal at first, but it adds up. It's not just 30 cents per exchange of text messages now. You'll be charged for unwanted spam texts, stalkers, and what not. Is that fair? Nope.

I wish the solution was as simple as to switching to Rogers. It's not. Rogers generally have a better service, cooler phones (iPhone comes to mind) but their service fees are also relatively more expensive. (iPhone's minumum $2200 commitment fee over 3 year contract comes to mind, yet again.) Besides, if Telus and Bell gets away with this kind of outrage, Rogers might join in on the money-stealing corporate strategy as well. We'll end up with no where to turn. Problem must end: now. And looks like Jim Prentice is the man to help us end it.

People who come up with these kind of ideas do it because they can afford it. Average CEO's make more money in a day than average Canadian employee does in a year. Vote on the poll on the side: what's your take on the situation? Love Jim Prentice or not? I'm sitting on the fence for this one.

Global Warming isn't Real

Glaciers on Mount Shasta, California are growing. There's definitely some self-contradiction made by the "scientists" in that statement, but regardless, it's a fact.

Why? According to them, it's because the increasing temperatures bring more rain to the mountain. 90% of glaciers world wide are still shrinking.

But if you ask me, global warming is not the correct term. Global warming is causing useless and pointless debates. It's called climate change. Some places gets cold, some gets warmer. The erratic temperature of our planet is a repetition of natural course of its history. Fossil evidence shows this happened before, long before we even existed. Human involvement is simply a catalyst.

Swedish Sex

Return of Yellow Margarine!...Quebec Edition

Now, if you didn't already know, margarine goes a long way back in history. It became very popular in 1970's, and overtook the "table-spread" market, crippling butter. Everyone got very angry that people like the unhealthy, cholesterol-infested, trans-fat high yellow devil that copied butter, and so they put a ban on it. Then, there was a dairy shortage, meaning less butter, so they lifted the ban for people to turn to margarine as an alternative. Then the government decided people are too stupid to be able to read the word "Butter" and "Margarine" on a packaging so they forced Margarine to be colorless to seperate from butter. By 1995, all provinces of Canada lifted this color ban... except for Quebec. Why?

1.) They always liked to be the odd balls.
2.) Quebec Provincial government does not trust the intelligence level of people of Quebec to distinguish butter from Margarine.
3.) But seriously, it's actually because the government doesn't need to protect the butter industry anymore because people are starting to go back to butter anyways.

What a cute drama. This is why Federal government of Canada won't let Quebec go.

iPhone plan for Rogers gets better

Who said whining doesn't make anything better? It seems like it made it heck of a lot better. After all those complaints about the overpriced and limited data plans for web browsing for the new iPhone 3G at Rogers, after pissing off Apple, Rogers has finally introduced a new data plan.

$30 a month, 6GB of data. Which is still not unlimited web browsing, but it's pretty close. The only people who still are unsatisfied with 6GB are probably businessmen who are addicted to facebook. Note, that it's +$30 a month. For example, you can choose any voice talk time, and simply add the $30 service on there if you want it-which you probably will if you're getting an iPhone.

Rogers, after denying that they redirected much of the iPhone shipments to Europe, are having a promotional event on July 11th at 6 stores across Canada, where you'll get a free breakfast, and a chance to win some Rogers Wireless products. (I'm betting that it's a certain phone?)

Don't buy an Xbox 360-Price Cut soon

If you considered buying an Xb0x 360, but haven't yet... Don't.

There's going to be a price cut, confirmed by leaked photos at Best Buy, K-Mart, etc. that shows that the price will drop to $299.99 US on July 13th.

For Canada, that's obviously going to be different, but we can only assume that it will drop on the same day, or shortly after. The version getting the price cut will, of course, be the premium version that comes with the hard drive.

It makes sense why they would do this though. After almost 3 years of its initial release, the sale rates seem to be slowly dropping, especially now that PS3 is starting to do well. Now, interestingly enough, E3, is on July 14th, and Microsoft might be announcing some new cool things then... Xbox 720 anyone?

Creative Chinese Strikes Fear into My Heart

Chinese people are awesome. Really. I mean, if there was any ethnic group on this planet that can come up with a military deployment strategy that is able to cripple the terrorists via laughter just by the sight of them, it was the Chinese people.
Apparently, this was supposed to be a method of "rapid deployment" but I fail to see the fail of the "rapid". And cost-efficiency? Is the millions of dollars going in to these Segways worth it? Nope. Just by looking at the picture, you can certainly tell that these guys are embarrassed out of their lives, and can barely stay on the thing while aiming. At the same time, they'll need to shoot at terrorists, drive the Segway to dodge bullets, and somehow cover their face so it's not randomly tagged on facebook under the caption "retard."

Oh, and it seems, just to promote the stereotype that Asians like small things, these guys have tiny guns.

Mutant Frenchies

There's recently been a nuclear spill in France. Now, what's funny about this is French officials say that the risk is "slight".

"Tens of thousands of liquid containing unenriched uranium" is leaking, some into two rivers. They banned swimming, fishing and other aquatic sports in three cities, and forbid water's agricultural and consumer use. 30, 000 liters of liquid solution of uranium and water, about 360 kilograms of natural uranium...

Sounds like risk is slight. (Insert sarcasm emoticon here)

But this is why we shouldn't have nuclear power in Middle-Eastern countries and African countries yet. I know it sounds likes an ideal solution to solve the energy and water shortage (via nuclear desalination) crises in the Third World Countries, but the technology is not safe enough, it's not reliable enough yet. If a country like France which has the one of the highest seniority when it comes to nuclear power research (starting in 1890's) makes a mistake, what makes people think that countries like Iran won't? Or even abuse it?

99% chance of success rate sounds good, but that's only when you do something once. When you have to be successful at something every day, every second constantly to generate power and not get 1000's of people blown up, the only magic number is 100%.

F*ck Canadian Telecommunication providers.

Telecommunication companies are the worst type of corporations ever-they hold too much power in this new era of modern technology. If you use Bell for your internet provider, you've already been screwed in the ass. They throttle your internet. They limit your download speeds on P2P. That's not good. Net neutrality is slowly dying.

If you don't know what net neutrality is, that's the term to describe a situation where everyone has a fair access to internet. Throttling your internet is slowing your internet down. Why is Bell doing this? Because there are so many people downloading enormous amount of contents that their servers are at risk. But there's a limit... Limit which they have well crossed. And you know it's bad when a company that is from another country-Google-is criticizing our telecommunication provider.

What does this mean to you? It's not just Bell customers. When this goes allowed, other companies will do the same thing-not to maintain their servers-but to get money. They know that internet is a valuable aspect of our lives. They're going to abuse their power to provide that. The telecommunication companies will introduce internet service plan A and B. A is more expensive. Everyone will waste their money on plan A... Why? Because they will throttle plan B users like hell. But in the end, you're not getting faster internet by choosing plan A; you're just paying more for the service you should have got anyways.

But that's not where my telecommunication company bashing stops. Did you know that Bell and Telus recently announced that they'll charge you for receiving text messages? 15 cents for every text message received. Starting August. Now I'm not a heavy texter. In fact, I seldom use the text message function, for some minor reasons. I have no text message plan so it costs 15 cents per text message, I'm a slow texter anyways, and I have no friends. For the rest, texting is essentially costing you twice as much as it cost you before. 30 cents per exchange.

But why am I getting angry over it if I don't really text that much? Because there are advertising companies that will somehow figure out my number and send me spams. The solution is obvious it seems-bye Telus, hello Rogers. But what if Rogers does the same thing? We'll see. Roger's expensive plans are not worth it unless I get a lot more spams.

Rogers is being a dick too, though. You know that iPhone that everyone's so excited about? Overpriced. Way, over priced. If you're going to get it for the 3-year contract, you better have at least $2, 600 ready, because that's how much it will cost you on the long run at the least. Out of the 23 international carriers worldwide, Canada is charging the most for the iPhone. And it's contract will cost you about 67 dollars at least a month. That only gives you 150 minutes of airtime and 400 mb of internet. iPhone was meant to be a heavy internet browsing gadget-400 mb just took away the point of having it.

Take AT&T for example, an infamous, well-disliked iPhone carrier in US. Even they have a plan that has three times as much talk time and unlimited internet usage for a 2 year contract at the same price of the service provided by Rogers.

I thought about getting the iPhone before, but no thank you now. Even if I get the phone for free, I still wouldn't take the plunge into that kind of overpriced service fee. Oh, and there's no unlimited service, not that it matters because if there was, looking at the annoucned services, it'll probably cost about 100 dollars a month.

Of course, Apple criticized Rogers for that, and when they didn't respond, Apple gave them a "whatever, you're own your own" attitude. But deep inside, they know they screwed up, so why be stubborn about it? Proof? They redirected lots of iPhone shipments coming to Canada to Europe because they know it won't sell.

Watermelon for Viagra

If you've been paying attention to my blog, you realize viagra is a potential steroid because it expands the blood vessels. It was never meant to make old men's penis come back to life. So if we find a substitute for steroid, we should do the same for viagra... and we have. Watermelons are the new all viagra. Except, it's not a drug, and it has no side effects. And it's not "organ-specific": it relaxes all your blood vessels, not just your penis's. But don't go crazy with this thing. As much as good it sounds, watermelons are also diuretic: they make you pee like crazy. And also it's high in sugar, which makes you crazy like me, or die of diabetes. Either is bad.

Not much after Canada Day, it was Quebec City's 400th birthday. Which is funny, because to celebrate this holiday, some stupid hotel workers in Quebec decided "we want to start a strike!". Ah... irony at its best.

There's of course, the American presidential election coming up. Barack Obama says he'll leave Iraq right away, then he says he might not, and Republicans are all just like "AHHH YOU LIED", then Barack obama denies it. Take my word for it though: Once you go black, you pull out of Iraq.

I never thought I'd have to give a blatantly obvious tip in this blog but here you go: show people you can listen. Or else they'll think you have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder). Then they'll give you drugs to treat that. Then you'll kill yourself. I'm serious. The ADHD/ADD drug seems to be related to suicide rates. But then again, drug or no drug, if I've been determined to be a incompetent learner, I'll kill myself too, but that's because I'm Asian.

I really don't see why we do certain researches sometimes: less calories mean longer life. Which is, you know, good. But not for me, because I
1.) am fat
2.) love cookies.
And I know a few girls who should take note of this report. Yes you! But anyways, the cool thing about the research is it actually shows what hormone causes aging. It's a thyroid hormone called triiodothyronine (say that fast 3 times) which slows your metabolism and aging-lower calories would reduce this.

And of course, there's no tech news because there will be a seperate blog for that soon.

Oh, and for those of you who actually felt guilty when I said "I know a certain girls who should take note of this", I actually had no one in mind when I said that. But if you thought "Ah, he means me" or "Ah, he means (insert name here)" then... you're probably right. Fatty.

There hasn't been a blog for a 2 days (which is a lot, seeing as how I write almost one everyday) but here's why: I think I'm going to do that thing I mentioned before. If you've been paying attention, I talked about how I might need to split up my blog, personal, news and etc. That's... exactly what I'm going to do.

So on this URL blog, I'm going to continue the news stuff, which everybody likes. Except, there will be no more technology news. That's because a lot of people aren't dorks like me, and don't care about that. And then there will be the personal blog, which includes all that crap that no one cares about, and probably my Youtube stuff. In fact, I plan on maybe making even more, but for now, 3 seperate blogs.

News has been dead this week. Nothing TOO interesting to talk about.

Tip of the week, don't eat tomatoes, probably from USA. It's causing salmonella outbreak-a type of food poisoning. Try to avoid pastas/spaghettis for a few weeks. If you MUST have tomatoes, grape tomates, ones with vine still on them and cherry tomatoes seem safe.

And of course, since Jolie is a celebrity (and has a nice ass) we make a big deal out of it when she checks in to the hospital early.

News that doesn't really matter, there's this high school student I'm very jealous of. He may have found a scientific discovery that resolves plastic bag waste problem. The guy won 10,000 dollars. His solution is simple: choose the two types of bacteria that causes plastic bags to decompose, and concentrate them in an ideal temperature-controlled environment. He envisions some plastic bag decomposing centers around Canada to set up these bacteria-infested facilities. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Scientists may have found the cure to cold sore. It's a type of herpes. My remaining opinion remains to be, to prevent STD "don't have sex". Of course then there are people already with STD, so it's unfortunate for them... Life without sex? Of course, I guess you can limit yourself to having sex with people with the same STD... I'm just joking though, it's good that there MIGHT be a cure for cold sore.

And Microsoft and Yahoo is back at it again. Which is so annoying. This feels like it's the 5th time I read this news on 10 different sites, and I just want yahoo to accept the damn offer because they'll make so much money. But then yahoo's engineers are threatening to leave for Google if they merge. Jesus...

My god it's just too hot. I hope everyone is having a good summer so far.

News has been very quiet and boring these days...

Americans seem very angry because they have to pay 300 and 400 for 3G iPhone, unless you're upgrading-which wasn't the price Apple announced.
Also Carbon Tax goes in to place today-which is also Canada Day and Humiliation Day.
Oh, and the rate of STD among people of BC over the age of 45 has doubled over the last 10 years. Which is... kind of disgusting. I can't imagine how they do it.

Other than that, not much to talk about. So let's talk about me. I got featured on youtube.ca, if I didn't brag enough about that already. Very happy about this because it gave me at least 80 subscribers and still counting. I'm very grateful, and appreciate random comments of those I barely even know.

On the other hand, it's the first time I got some haters. To quote some, "stop flailing around like a retard" "I wanna shoot you in the head" "You're one ugly bastard" "you're a loser" "get a life" etc etc. And I had no idea that there were this many stupid people in this world. And I thought those who read my notes on facebook were stupid.

Like ugly? Granted. Loser? Yes. Get a life? Definitely. Shoot me in the head? I'd rather not get shot. Point I'm trying to get at? Most of the things you call me, I already know I am. It's like wasting time saying AIDS IS BAD. No shit AIDS is bad. No shit I have no life. Same thing.

And I looked through those type of people's profile-they are grown men getting angry at me on the internet. And I am just at a loss for words. Imagine, if the people at my school felt this way-I'd probably be dead. And I'm sure there actually are people like this who are close to me, which kind of scares me. But internet+anonymity creates the most fucked up retards ever... Just my little personal experience.

Friday June 26th, 2008 was the day Bill Gates has officially stepped down from his position as the chairman of Microsoft. Sure there will be people who are insensibly angry that the billionaire bastard gets to retire at the age of 52 and will not need to work a single day to make it through the rest of his life - money isn't everything folks. Besides, he's doing something much better than you, wasting your time reading this, are doing: saving the f***ing world. And working part-time at the company he built. But mostly saving the world. He's a great guy... He really is.

When I was reading through cbc.ca today, I just thought the government maybe trying to scare everyone of us to turn into pessimistic pussies. Just reading through the top headlines, it said

I mean, cbc.ca is a crown corporation, owned by the government, and I could almost joke that they are scaring us so we become as conservative as our government. There's never a news article like "Canada wins the gold medal in 2008 Olympics" but that's probably because we simply suck at sports. Just saying, there's no positive aspects to all this. Ever. But regardless, the best I can do is the joke about terrible catastrophes to bring light to the humorous part.

Irony of it all might be something like medical helicopters colliding to kill, rather than save people. Yeah that actually happened, is the sad part.

Another news that tries to scare us, this summer we may not have ice at the Arctic. Which would be the "first in memory". Which is great, since now I can kayak to Russia where my long lost twin brother is rumored to be. But then again, the scientist says it's only a 50-50 chance, and he seems stupid, since he felt the need to state the fact that "thin ice melts faster". If he's not the complete idiot that I would think of him as, then we're in a bit of a trouble. A 50-50 chance doesn't sound plausible, and it sounds less plausible when you think about the fact that we have summer every year. The chance will probably be higher next year, given that it didn't melt this year... and year after that... so on and so forth.

Oh yeah, iPhone 3G. Who cares about iPhone 3G. It's a freaking 3 year contract with 60$ minimum monthly contract fee + 6.95$ charge for some system access fee. Even if it's 150 minutes of talk time+Unlimited evening+weekends, 75 text messages are pathetic, and so is 400 megabytes of data for a phone that's meant to browse the internet 24/7.

News that makes me wonder what happened to Beethoven and his descendants, some Chinese kid won an international piano competition. The 2 Canadians that were in the top 2 were also Chinese. There's no white musicians, I thought, but 2nd and 3rd places were from USA and Spain respectively, and NOT Chinese. I think... at least by the name. Regardless, this is the first news of today that's not subliminally saying "the world is ending".

On a personal note, I just wanna say F*CK CANADA POST. They lost an important document we were sending off to someone. I won't say much because of our privacy, but express guarantees that it will arrive by Wednesday. They lost it, could not get it to us on Friday, and will get back to looking for it on Monday. Screw your so called weekends. You don't deserve it. I understand every worker has rights, but they also have responsibilities that comes with it: as a postal office, that's getting the f*cking thing delivered, if not 2 days late, then ASAP. The ridiculous part of it all is, they are sorry and they want to give us back the 8 dollar they took from us because the "guarantee" was not kept. We don't want the god damn 8 dollars. 8 dollars isn't worth the 1 hour it takes to reach the god damn customer service representative. In fact, the arrival of the late document may cost our family more than $24, 000. So again, I want to say eat a dick, Canada Post. Oh, and that woman at Nester's Market was very unpleasant, so she gets a special congratulatory "suck my balls". Yeah, we're gonna sue them. Unless we don't get very reasonable compensation. But do we even stand a chance? An Asian minority group of immigrants in a court controlled by Whites... Not to mention, Canada Post is part of the government... It's a crown corporation just like CBC.

Vancouver madness

Now, I know I usually like to make fun of Saskatchewan-the apparently crazy capital of Canada. But, this time, nope: BC is the crazy capital of Canada this week.

Surrey man has recently been found guilty of 2nd-degree murder of his wife. I say it should have been 1st degree. The part that doesn't make sense is, I know people kill their wives: it's unfortunately a common type of murder. But did he really need to stab her 39 times? You have to sort of wonder, she probably died in the first 10. So I dunno. Maybe he felt like he was going to go to jail anyways and thought he was going to make the best out of it. I mean the wife did threaten that she'll go back to India with their son and train him to spit on his father.

But that's not all: 300 kg of ecstasy was found at Richmond. That's a lot. To give you an idea of how much that is, 200 kg of those were in tablet forms - that's million tablets of ecstasy. And of course, they also found bunch of explosives and automatic machine guns in the lab.

UN recently found out that developing nations are affected more harshly by natural catastrophes compared to developed nations. I just want to say: it's great that we don't have complete idiots working in a multinational organization that's supposedly keeping us from blowing the planet up. Of course they're more affected.

Now I don't do sports that often but it's obviously an important time of the year: Euro 2008 and Olympics in China. Apparently Viagra may be the new steroid. Although the drug was accidentally found to be what helps erectile dysfunction, (makes your penis wake up for old people) it was actually a drug meant to help your blood vessels expand. This would allow more space for blood cells to travel through and help you breathe more. They can't ban it yet since there's no scientific evidence that it can make you stronger or faster (as fast as Kenyans!) but in theory, it's possible.

I'm leaving a new poll up. Although I doubt anyone will vote. And it's "who'll win the Euro 2008?" I would personally vote for Jesus, but that's probably just me. If that's not allowed I'd have to say Spain. They have more talented players as opposed to German players are more of a "run like hell" stamina work-horses. I guess it's possible Germany makes an effective counterattack towards the end of the game.

Had the provincial exam for Physics 12 today, which turned out to be okay. I wouldn't be surprised if I had one multiple choice wrong, but there's definitely a good shot at a 100%, and a 2000$ scholarship.

I'm tired as hell today, my eyes are itching even more than usual and I want to rip them out. I have some news I want to share so look forward to that later today. Reminder to the 5 of you that read my notes, report cards 9~10 tomorrow.

Had another person come up to me and say "I don't think you should quit writing the blogs" to me today. I'm so sick and tired of this. Next person who does that will get punched in the face. Because I explained why I'm not writing them on facebook, I wrote at least 5 notes giving the link to my blog and youtube channel, and they seem to act like they read my notes, but they actually don't. Because if they did, they wouldn't ask stupid questions.

If you want to read it, just freaking come to the blog and quit your whining. Man, I get pissed over nothing. I can't believe there are only 5 people who visit the blog. I know this from the fact that there are 5 votes on the "JUST FREAKING CLICK TO LET ME KNOW" poll. Unless the instructions weren't clear enough to the 89.57% of the stupid people that reads my blog.

Very slow progress in both getting blog readers and youtube viewers. Feel like giving up. Very frustrating and thinking a lot about the situation and how to resolve the problem, but otherwise, my real life seems to be going well. Meh. In the end, I still believe I'm only making an ass out of myself. I realized it's not because my friends are lazy to lend me a hand. It's because I have absolutely no friends who feel attached enough to me, respect me enough, like me enough, understand me enough to devote maybe 10 seconds to 5 minutes support my cause. This is why I have a hard time defining friends. My friends that I usually hang out with: great guys. I can have fun with them, I can talk to them, I can fool around with them. But that's it. They're not people I feel like I will ever bond enough to support each other through the good and bad. Very bitter about this. But there's no point in whining on my blog is there, because the people who will read it are all the people who are the very infrequent exceptions.

Had fun making videos initially, but feel unmotivated at this point. Same with blogs. Will decide with in 20 days if I'm quitting for good. And I mean it this time. It's either here or gone forever, because I honestly can be putting my time towards more productive things. It's simply that I could accomplish great things with what I'm doing right now. The internet has endless possibilities. But I'm not one of the people who seems like was meant to take advantage of it. People don't seem to understand how much one comment means to me. To have that attention, to have that ability to influence others. I just get angry when people say "don't stop writing your blogs, I read them, just never comment." Did I not make it clear enough that I need to know you read it to continue them? Did I not make it clear that a simple comment or a vote in the poll is the way I know this? Common sense has been extinguished in this world.

Just got back from awards assembly. More-or-less disappointed I got nothing after 100% in Physics 12, and that my name was listed in the program but never read for Socials.

Have Physics 12 provincial exam tomorrow. UBC does not care if your mark drops from Provincial Exam so I have nothing to lose on this exam, but if I do get a 100%, I have a good shot at a 2000$ scholarship.

Relatively busy day today, so that is why there was no news and stuff today. Will make up for it tomorrow, look in to the blog and youtube channel around 7 o' clock. Thank you for the viewers and the readers (the 5 of you).

Personal note: Got 4.0 GPA principal's, and Jazz Band Award. Next year, I am going to work so hard that I can play dominoes with my awards... Just like Ariel Liu could (doubt she does this though. She is too busy to waste her time on something pointless as that, unlike me).

I seriously wonder why we waste our research money sometimes. In continuation of my last blog (scroll down and click older posts) there is yet again, a stupid "scientific research results". Apparently, doctors have speculated that Herpes and AIDS may be related and treating one of them will fix the other. However, the research shows that, it may in fact be irrelevant. But then at the end of the article, they say yet again, it still might.

WHAT? What the hell are these guys talking about. Here's how I'm going to strike a little bit of common sense in to these guys.

Herpes: STD
AIDS: STD

You have sex, you have chance to get either. You have lots of sex, you probably have both. Of course they're related. But it's just the simple fact that if you have sex(es), you'll catch it. Here's how it works. In this fictional scenario, I see a hot girl. I decide 'I want to have sex with her'. Chances are I won't get to, but let's say I do. Now that girl is hot, meaning there's more guys who wanted to have sex with her, implying she had lots of sex. And those guys, are probably hot too to score a hot chick like that, and they probably had lots of sex with other lots of hot chicks. Eventually you realize those numbers are fucking scary. The only person safe is people like me-the geek virgins. Because if you have sex with a hot chick who is willing enough to go for you, she's what we call "a slut" or "a whore". Moral of the story, just wait till you're married, unless you are sure that you will marry her eventually.

News that makes you wonder why there needs to be the obvious stated, a report shows homeless women in Toronto face violence and poor health care. It just makes me wonder, can I get on the news by mentioning something like 'Sky turns out to be blue, but black at night.' I should try.

You just have to wonder sometimes why people do certain things. A life-sized bronze statue was stolen from a Vancouver park. I get the fact that it was worth over 5000 dollars, but seriously, there are things out there that are worth more, and easier to steal. Say, something like jeweleries. They don't weight a ton like a life sized bronze statue. Even more so, they are probably more expensive too. And finally, they have easier resale conditions. You can't exactly go to a museum and say "here's a statue worth over 5000 dollars, wanna buy it?" No, you can't do that. Because in that case, they'll arrest you. Idiot...

I'd like everyone to pray right now. 2 children has passed away from a fire that probably was caused by a cigarette flame in a hospital on Sunday. Weird thing about this is, across the house lit on flames, lives a good friend of the children who likes to go sleepover often. She really wanted to go that night on Saturday, and her parents just for some reason didn't let her. And then it turns out the house was on fire. Just weird. Not accusing them of anything at all. And this is one time I'm not sarcastic.

I have pretty much confirmed that when I moved off facebook, I lost most of my readers. In fact, I have 5 left that visits my blog. So I just want to say, go swallow a knife in bitterness, who used to say 'wow, your blogs are interesting', and then stopped visiting when I left facebook.

I'm happy to say I have another rant up (3 videos in one day... Oh my god-_-...) which you can see here. This one's actually really funny at the end, so stay till the end. If you were paying attention to my blogs, I mentioned I have some big plans for joining youtube. This is it. My comprehensive step by step guide.

1.) Become active in the internet community-facebook, blog, youtube - check, check and checked off.
2.) Captivate a large audience (I'm talking thousands) that view me frequently. (Which should be at least once a week.) This gives me a powerful voice, one that can actually make a large difference.
3.) Contact a company (ie. BC Heart and Stroke Foundation) to start a fundraiser. My audience and readers can start donating to a good cause on my behalf.
4.) I've made a difference in this world.

What makes me able to do this? Well, I don't think I can. I'm just a relatively fortunate person born with genes that gave me a rather intelligent brain, who has the capacity to comprehend news, create short videos, talk in front a camera (with a half-decently hidden Asian accent) and write blogs. Anybody intelligent can do something like this. But I have the free time (sadly) and the motivation. I have the ambition, the goal. So I'm asking everyone to help me start off. I, unfortunately don't have 300 something friends on facebook. I don't unfortunately have powerful figures in my family. But you might. And I'm asking you to watch and subscribe to me on youtube, read my blogs, post links of my blogs and videos, refer me to your friends, and join me in a good cause. I know many will read this, I know very few will do what I've asked.

Because you're lazy. Even more than me. Which is a huge problem. It's an ambitious goal. So if I fail, well, the worst thing that's happened is people will laugh at me for being a dreamer. But unlike I mentioned in my facebook note, I haven't wasted my summer. Because if I could entertain even one person - your laugh, your attention, your opinion - it's means the world to me.

Anyways, I'll do the news blog in a bit.
-By the way, I'm considering making a seperate blog for stuff like this, and news blog which people read. Personal blog seems to only turn people off because no one usually cares about what goes in my life. Usually. I seem to have a few stalkers. Mostly gay men.

Before I start off I want to say, today is the national Aboriginal Day. Just in case that anybody cares, it's also the Canadian Multiculturalism Day on the 27th. Boy, we really have a lot of these pointless celebrations. Might as well tie it in to one single holiday. Just saying.

I'm jealous of USA. They have hulu. We got crappy youtube that a 5 year olds (like me) can publish shitty videos if they wanted to. If you don't know what hulu is, it's a site, that has countless TV shows like Family guy, Office, Saturday Night Live... even full feature length films all for free. Don't bother going there, it's not available to Canadians yet. Hopefully sometime in the future.

News that doesn't really matter, iTunes has sold 5 billion songs, and maintains to be the most popular music seller in the world. That's great, but I think P2P still sells more... for free.

If you didn't know, I recently made a gmail account e-mail for my youtube and blog (this one). But I'm kinda getting attracted to yahoo. The reason for that is because they started 2 new domain names called ymail.com and rocketmail.com. The good thing about this is the fact that now, new customers can create an e-mail account that is more easier to remember because there is too many of yourname@yahoo.com that other people are forced to use samename123@yahoo.com. My G-mail is something like sjlee36bc or something, I don't even remember what it is to be honest.

I'm sorry for continuing to make fun of Saskatchewan, but retarded crap always happens there, for some reason. I don't know why, maybe it's a lot of bad interbreeding. Apparently, lots of pedophiles there. I mean, I get the fact that some guy offered alcohol and money to underage girls for sex (explained in my angry rant linked above), but pedophile, possibly pervert, and bisexual too? I lost faith in mankind. Some guy in a white van, just approaching young boys and girls offering them candy to get inside his van. Funny thing though - epic failure. He tried 14 times and still not caught.

New statistics show that 4.1 million Canadians do not have a family doctor. I'm not surprised. Yeah, surely that is almost 13% of our entire population, but medical industry is deplorably based on profit. And what is profitable is having 100's coming to walk-in clinics everyday, instead of restricting yourselves to a family doctor.

My take on this is that it's not good, both in case of social and medical aspects. First of all, you need to have a relationship with a family doctor. They are people who (should) care for you, and wants to do all they can to lead you to a long fulfilling life. People who work at walk-in clinics are the ones who don't care about customers (because they just want money and/or they do not have the time to bond with the patients) and does a horrible job of what they do. Moreover, a family doctor will always be more successful and ie. finding out if you may or may not have a heart disease, because they have a general idea of what you, and your parents' entire medical history. It's called genetics.

A recent report shows that lightnings are bad for your health, given you get hit by one. No sh!t. Who ever came up with the idea that getting a billion volt of electricity that hits you at a speed of 60, 000 meters per second and charges you up to 30, 000 degrees Celsius is good? Like, I don't know what more to say about it.

News that I don't really care for, medical study shows drinking coffee is not harmful. I'm so tired of this. First they say it is, then no, then yes, and the whole f**king situation happened over and over again. Coffee is like the liquid marijuana. Who cares if it's harmful or not, people do it anyways. But this study was done at Harvard, so we'll see.

I know that there is this carbon tax debate thing going around right now between Conservatories and the Liberals, but I don't really care at this point. Politics has always been the same thing over and over again, and that's why history really repeats itself. I'm not touching that issue with a 10 meter stick. But the link's over here. I'll talk more about it if it does get interesting to the point that someone other than me will care. I just want the Liberals back in power.

News for any whities that read my blog, we will most likely get an anti-spanking law passed sometime soon. It's passed the senate, and if you took SS11, you know that means it's pretty much waiting for the Royal Assent and it's law. What it will do is, it puts charges on parents who spank their kids (as if the name of the law wasn't self-explanatory). But I really don't see the point of this for a few reasons.
1.) They spank kids anyways. You can't enforce it, just like your stupid Bill C-61. (A-holes...)
2.) Spanking: not a big deal. When I was growing up in Korea, I'm glad I was one of those "good kids" because I know friends who were spanked with a baseball bat with nails in it while they were doing a 100 push ups. Faster you finish, less you get hit. But I can't even do a 100 push ups. (Oh my sweet baby Jesus...)

I read a news about a man I'm very envious of, and look up to: the first Canadians to have been awarded the Kyoto Prize, the Japanese equivalent of the Nobel Prize.

And finally news that is very very interesting. For me anyways. Some doctors in Winnipeg are resigning because they're tired of disputes between their colleagues. The situation is this. Sam Golubchuk in Winnipeg is an Orthodox Jew... He is also a plant, meaning he has very little brain functions. Only thing working is his most basic life functions like his heart and lungs, but he cannot think, he cannot move, and the only thing keeping him alive is modern technology of life support. Doctors are arguing about whether to just kill him, since there is absolutely no practical chance of him recovering -- he was there since last Fall.

Sam's family is also Jewish, and they believe that it's unethical to kill a man who is alive. They believe that conscious or not, living things when born, have a designated time to live, and that is decided by God. They believe they can't kill Sam because that's against God's wishes. They even go as far to say that on Father's Day, he seemed to have twitched a little when they gave him a card, as a recognition of their love.

Doctors who disagree with Sam's family are resigning because the court is forcing them to treat him. So I'm gonna leave a poll open for this one. You guys tell me what you think.

My summer

Now here's a personal blog, which no one EVER reads.

With a newly found passion for current events, I want to think over the summer if it's something I want to pursue as a career. Surely, I'm a rather gifted science student, and quoting Mr. Wu, "there's nothing worse than being passionate about something you're bad at", which in my case is trying to be funny on youtube, but you get the point. I just wanna think over it.

And also, why am I writing blogs and making youtube videos.
1.) I said why I write blogs down there. Quit asking.
2.) Youtube video is just another method to reach out to more people, just as I have migrated from facebook to the blog. In fact, I have bigger plans than just acting like an idiot on youtube, or writing about random news I find on cbc.ca all my life. But it's only attainable if I can get reach out to lots of people. So refer me to your friends, family, pets, and other imaginary existent beings, because we all know anybody who reads my blogs are actually just like me: anti-social couch potato. (I love you all.)

I don't really wanna say what exactly the plan is... yet. But you'll see. Hopefully. All depends on how big the community grows. Just know that it's not a matter of personal gain... entirely.

By the way what kind of things can you expect from my videos in the future? I'll talk about current events, maybe a video-ized version of all the blogs. Since people like to watch, rather than read, even if that means having to watch me.

A two part news, first they found a 6th foot on the coast of South BC, and later was tested that it was a fake, with shoe, and a sock filled with seaweed and an animal paw. The weird thing is I can't imagine anyone ever wasting their time grabbing a bunch of seaweed and cut off a paw of a dog and making this kinda thing. I'd rather waste time writing blogs. The police's reaction was something like "that's just weird..."

Now, if you didn't know, by 6th foot, I meant there were 5 other feet found on coast in BC. Human feet. And these are real. Now what's weird is, this kind of phenomena is apparently happening all around the world, not just BC. So it's either we have a foot fetish serial killers out there, or some actually speculate that it's people who may have died in a plane accident and just magically had their feet amputated in the process. If you ask me, I say foot fetish.

Is it just me or do Chinese people always get the crap? First they have an earthquake, then a flood, and now more and more rain. This ended up displacing 1.27 million people as well as a crop over an area of 1 million hectare of land. And they really need those crops as it is. So my heart is going out to all of those who are involved, and/or helping out with the crisis.

New study shows if your mom is fat, you are more likely to be fat. Also if she ate lots of cookies and french fries when she was pregnant with you, you may have a higher chance of being fat. No shit, don't they honestly have better ways to spend our fundings on? We already sort of figured.

Adding on to that, if you think you're fat, then your life will suck. Another no shit, but I guess it kind of makes sense. I know a lot of Asian girls for an obvious reason, and yeah, a lot of the skinny ones call themselves fat, and then start cutting themselves because of it.

You'd be surprised to know that 51% of of males, and 71% of women are for the copyright bill. What's horrible is these are old people. Old people like Tories. We, as in my general audience, do not. Sad thing is, we are not allowed to vote. So if you want to get sued for all your downloaded music feel free to ignore this next link. It's a facebook group that has a very powerful voice, and managed to delay the passing of the bill. We can do it again with your support.

Keep on voting people, 30 yes votes is the personal standard I set for definitively bringing back the blogs.

So how's it going to work? Here's a 5W and How approach.

Who: Jesus and me. Okay, fine, just me.
What: I'll continue the news and tech blogs from my usual sources. I'll also continue to add in my personal blogs here and there for those of you (like 2 people) that care.
Where: Ignoring this one.
Why: I was surprised by how many people who wants them back.
When: Yeah... I said 25th of June but it may be earlier and I'll tell you why soon further down.
How: This is the big thing. I made this blog for a few reasons: like I said before, I wanted to reach out to a wider audience other than just my friends on facebook. Also, I can put AdSense on it, meaning when someone visits my blog, maybe click on the ad, I make a pathetically tiny amount of money. It's something that I don't even hope to make 50 cents a week, but since this is what I do for a hobby anyways, and I have a maintaining audience, I decided, it maybe a good idea to make whatever I can out of it.

What does that mean to you? Well, for one, I'm not going say "click the ads" to support me. And I don't expect you to, unless you're interested in whatever is in the advertisement. Like I say before, I never expected to make any money in the first place. Also, it means I wouldn't prefer putting the blogs on facebook. That's why I gave two choices for the poll. I could definitely import the blogs from here to facebook, but if I do that, what's the point of having this blog? But I know people wouldn't really read my blogs if it wasn't on facebook so two things:
1.) This one will be updated more frequently. (IE. If I had a blog up on here on the 25th, the same one will be on facebook on the 26th.)
2.) It will have more content. (Maybe more personal blogs, since most of you just care about reading the news blog.)

That's what I have on mind, but I'm still trying to come up with a creative compromise.

Finally the reasons I may be back sooner than I anticipated:
1.) My friends showed me that all I need was just a bit of a break with final exams coming up. Maybe I was too accustomed to writing blogs daily.
2.) My two provincial exams are relatively spaced out, 20th, and 25th. So at the earlier, my next "News blog" thing will be on the 20th.
3.) I just love doing this anyways.

I guess I should explain myself.

When I first started writing notes on facebook, there were a few things I wanted to accomplish.

1.) Have fun being productive, which I did;
2.) Voice out my opinion, since as most of you know, I have a rather unique point of view on things and get in to frequent disagreements regarding controversial issues;
3.) Entertainingly inform people of the current events and what it means to them and;
4.) Get people thinking.

But number 4 was the most important one that mattered to me. Then one day, I suddenly doubted, am I really making people think? I had no idea of exactly how many people read it, but there were rarely any comments. Did I get people to think? No, I'm just a guy reading news off the internet, and retyping them on his keyboard.

But I'm back after giving this a lot of thought, and this is because, even though there aren't many people who read my notes, there are at least around 5 who loyally read it everyday. And if I can even get 1 people to laugh and think everyday, that's an experience rewarding enough to me. And I know what I do will have to end one day, but for now: it's that experience that matters; it's the fact I have fun doing this.

Also, I moved to blogger.com because I wanted to expand my horizons, and see how many people I can reach out to. I may or may not import all the facebook notes onto here, depending on number requests (which I assume, 1 or 2 is all I will get).

But just so I don't make yet another hasty decision, I'm going to lay off the blogs until the 25th of June, which is my last provincial exam. So until then, I'm leaving a poll open on the side for you guys to vote on, and let me know what you think. Cheers.
